What I learned from Robert Dudley, CEO of BP

I heard him speak at an Economic club event in Chicago.  He was in charge of the gulf clean up which cost them $21B and had up to 48,000 people involved.  He said the old adage that Money makes the world go 'round no longer applies.  He believes it is trust.  Think about the things you trust everyday - police, military, internet banking and transactions.  They were confronted with a huge loss of trust and he talked about how you respond to that loss.  They focused on the 3 R's - Respond (spent $21B), Reinforce (cooperation and information sharing), Restore (energy independence).  Sounds easy.
